(LOCAL ADOPTION ONLY) Hello, I'm Chewy! I know too much cuteness right here, right? I've got a big attitude for my compact size, but you probably couldn't guess that. No little kids or big dogs for me, I'm just a little guy. Did I mention that my mom was a chiweenie and my dad was a pomeranian mix? I was born the runt but I finally outgrew my sisters, it doesn't matter that it is not by much. By the way, I love to give kisses and I'm not the least bit shy! If you want to meet me please fill out an application at http://www.anythingspawsablerescue.com/#!applications/c1c5p

FOSTER LOCATION: Nampa, ID Handsome boy Orville is a 10 year old, 9 pound Pomeranian who along with his brother Wilbur (yes they were named after the Wright Brothers) is in search of a new home! Both of these boys were found wandering alone, lost and a bit scared at an airport and taken to the local shelter. A shelter is no place for a senior dog so they came to the Fuzzy Pawz Rescue foster program. Both boys were in nice shape when they were found, a good weight, and coats in good shape; someone obviously cared for them at one time. Sadly they cared for them in the wrong way and turned them into little dogs who believed that they run the house; they refused to do anything they didn't want to and no way you could convince them to come to you or let you pick them up to move them or crate them. The Wright brothers have made great strides and are turning into loving little guys. With a trainers help, a little patience, a leash and some treats and they have both learned that the people rule the world not them! Orville is still not fond of being picked up and will once in a while get a bit growly if you try to take his Kong away from him; but it's all growl at this point and a redirection and he gets over himself quickly. Orville loves other dogs and should go to a home with another small dog that is stable and loves to play chase. We are unsure of how he would be with cats. He is good with people also; likes to follow you around to see what you are doing. A calm, quieter household that can offer structure is best for Orville; no kids under 16 please. He really likes to sleep with his people but has learned to go into his crate a night and wait for you to close the door! This handsome man likes to sit by your feet and take a nap, loves to ride in the car and go for outings. He loves to go for walks and does so very nicely. Orville does have a collapsing trachea, which is common for Poms; the only thing this does is make him cough and please no pulling on his collar. When going for walks he'd do better with a harness. He is in good physical health other than missing some teeth and he just had a dental. He does have a bit of cloudiness in his eyes (normal for a Pom at his age). He will need a regular grooming routine to keep his coat tangle free, shiny and healthy. (Pretty Paws in Nampa, a Fuzzy Pawz sponsor, will give a 10% discount for his first groom.) Orville is neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. If you would like to meet him and see if you have what it takes you will need to fill out an application with Fuzzy Pawz Rescue: http://fuzzypawzrescue.com/adopt/adoption-application-2/ There is a $40 adoption fee for Orville. Pomeranian Dogs can make good pets in Idaho if they match your IifestyIe. The Pomeranian is a poufy, fox-like toy breed. Pomeranians are vivacious and intelligent. This breed may become skittish around very young, rambunctious kids. Pomeranians need consistent, thorough obedience training. Pomeranians do fine living in an apartment if they get enough exercise.
