Rescue Me ID: 16-11-19-00093Ladybug (female)

Pomeranian    Age: Senior

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current, Fearful/Anxious

Ladybug is the special needs lady in the left of the picture. She is missing one eye but it causes her no problems. Unfortunately the experience that came with losing her eye left her very fearful of the vet, groomer, or situations that are stressful. She gets a little snappy in these situations. She also doesn't like to be cornered by little kids as most small dogs don't. She has never been bred but loves puppies and kittens. The other Pom in the picture is not hers but she raised him. They are very bonded and my first choice would be for them to find a family together. I am willing to reduce the adoption fees if they are adopted together. ... (Read More)I'm also willing to donate adoption fees to the pet rescue organization of the adopters choice. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 16-11-08-00005Shorty (male)

Pomeranian Mix    Age: Senior

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Low Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

SHORTY *SPECIAL NEEDS* AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION Shorty is a sad case. He is an 11 year old pomeranian mix that weighs about 6 lbs. Shorty needs to find a wonderful retirement home that will be able to manage his special needs. He came to us with a multitude of health issues. Back in 2011 he fell out of a moving car and broke his femur. It was repaired with a pin, but that pin has since broken. Unfortunately, the orthopedic specialist doesn't believe repairing it will be successful. Amputation is also not an option as his opposite rear leg has a bone weakening issue which would not support his body. He puts weight on and uses both legs, but he ... (Read More)is unstable and cannot walk long distances. He also came to us with a perineal hernia, which required an extensive surgery to both tack down his internal organs to his abdominal wall, but also repair the weakened muscle wall. In another unfortunate turn of events, Shorty has been experiencing some bladder leakage since the surgery. He sometimes will dribble during his sleep or on the way to take him outside. This may improve as he continues to heal from his surgery, but it may not improve. Shorty is a sweet boy who has the softest fur ever and enjoys being pet. He is a happy boy and gets along with other dogs. He would love a home with a lot of love and minimal physical activity. Shorty is looking for his angel that will look past his physical disabilities and into his heart. Do you think you could be the person to help change Shorty's life? If you are interested in adopting, please complete an adoption application, which can be found on our website at www.perfectpooches.org under the Adoption Process tab. All dogs are spayed/neutered, current on vaccines, heartworm tested (age appropriate), fecal tested and/or dewormed, and microchipped. (Less)
