I am 9 years old and 22 pounds. I was surrendered to the pound by my owner and they gave no additional information. I was brought to the shelter to find my new forever home. ADOPTION DONATION: $350 Please fill out an online application and we will give you a call as soon as we receive it. Visit our 'Adopt' page to view adoption process steps, policies, requirements and FAQ. View our 'Visit' page for hours and directions to our shelter. We look forward to seeing you soon! Our website is always kept 100% up to date with who is currently available. All new animals (40/week) are added to the site 2 weeks before their availability date to give you time to fill out your adoption application and get the family ready to come out to the shelter that day. As soon as animals are adopted, they are moved to the Adopted Pets page so if they are still listed on the Adoptable Dogs or Cats page, they are still available. Keep any eye on our website for any animals being added as available for adoption as new animals are added everyday! We would recommend if you haven't done so already that you submit a general online adoption application with us so it is on file for when you are ready to come out and adopt. The adoption counselors will be able to show you many that would be a good fit for your family. We do go in order of when you submitted your application with us. So it is always best that you get your general application for any animal in with us as soon as possible. All dogs are microchipped, neutered/spayed, current on all vaccines, heartworm tested and started on Tri Heart Plus & Vectra 3D. (Less)

Who knew that Chewbacca had a tiny little sister?? Knock me over with a feather! This little imp looks a bit like her big 'brother'and naturally they speak the same language. Becca does that same little high pitch sort of purr noise. Typically that cute little sound comes out of this wee imp when she is grumbling at someone! She may be tiny but she does on occasion consider her self a force to be reckoned with-like many small dogs. Becca came from an apartment that had over 30 dogs, small dogs of all sorts of breeds and mixed pretty well to create some quite unique pups! She appears to be a Pom, has the pug coloring and more of a snub nose than the particular chihuahua or pom face, but it is actually a guess, we cannot guarantee her breeds. The first day here she did not want to be held but has quickly come around and has gotten more engaging and social. She will sit on our laps but then 'purr' when she wants down, it is on her terms-lol. Becca really is an adorable little girl but needs an experienced and patient family, no small kids please. She was first estimated at 8 years old, but could be between 5-8 years. She is around 10 stocky pounds, she could lose a little, she obviously has been accustomed to table food so we are working on that. Becca loves being around other dogs, enjoys strolling in the yard and a nice nap in the sun. They had been potty pad trained but she has been doing well going potty outside and will need a family to continue reinforcing that behavior. Becca's adoption fee is $225-now 10% off plus a free bounty of supplies and treats worth over $200! please email Kristine at email@example.com. (Less)

|Rescue Me ID: 18-03-04-00232Tinkerbell (female)|
Tinkerbell is a 'Throwback' Pomeranian. She currently weighs 11lbs and will be 11 years old in May. She knows her basic commands. She is fearful of loud noises and fireworks and will react by barking. She will go outside and use pads, but is not fully housebroken. Tinkerbell is in search of a new foster or forever home without other pets or children. She would not do well in an apartment situation as she will bark. She is currently in a multi-dog foster home and stressing the resident dogs. She is fearless and will go after them. It is for this reason, that we believe for her safety and the safety of other dogs that she be placed in a single dog home. If you live within 20 miles of Chicago and would be interested in fostering, please apply here: http://makingadifferencerescue.com/fostering/ If you live within 20 miles of Chicago and would be interested in adopting, please apply here: http://makingadifferencerescue.com/adoption-survey/ (Less)

Pomeranian Dogs can make good pets in Illinois if they match your IifestyIe. The Pomeranian is a poufy, fox-like toy breed. Pomeranians are vivacious and intelligent. This breed may become skittish around very young, rambunctious kids. Pomeranians need consistent, thorough obedience training. Pomeranians do fine living in an apartment if they get enough exercise.
