Rescue Me ID: 18-01-15-00120Xena (female)
Xena is a three year old female. She is VERY sweet and good with other dogs and kids. She is a 'special needs' animal. She has two chronic conditions that must be monitored. She has Addison's Disease which requires an injection of medication every 25 days. She will need to go to the vet every 6 months for electrolyte testing and will require a full blood panel every year. She also has chronic dry eye which requires daily drops in her eyes. She has horrible genetics and needs her teeth cleaned every 6 months. We cannot afford her veterinarian bills or medication anymore. We want her to go to the best home possible that will put her medical needs first. You must be very patient and have the financial resources to bring her to the vet a few times per year. She loves to cuddle and watch TV with you. She will be a great companion to the right person. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 17-10-29-00464Simba (male)
My name is Simba, and I'm looking for a quiet household to call home! I came from living with the same nice man my entire life, but when he became hospitalized for a long-term illness, he sadly had to ask Broken Tail Rescue to find me a new family. I am 13 years old and I weigh about 15 pounds. Though I am getting up there in age, I still have a lot of pep in my step and I am excited to be alive. If you see me you'll think, 'wow, that is a dog who is happy!' Ideally though I need a home with routine, perhaps one or two owners, and no kids. I am completely housebroken and am an easy dog to have around the house. I have a history of developing bladder stones (the rescue had to have them surgically removed!) so I need to be on a prescription diet for life. I love the canned prescription food though, it's so yummy!! Due to the special food I do tend to need to go out often but if kept on a schedule I do just fine and don't have accidents in the house. I love to chill in my bed or at my foster parents feet, and I am not barky, except when I'm crated and I need to go potty. I also enjoy snuggling with my owners either on the couch or on the floor. I LOVE to sleep in bed with my people but please don't roll over or kick me or I might just have to bite you, sorry not sorry. I will forgive you though if you can forgive me. I have no interest in other dogs. As long as they ignore me, I'll ignore them but if they give me the hairy eyeball or start trouble, I'll show them who's boss. As for cats, it really depends on the cat. If they stand up to me, fine, I'll leave them alone but if they are afraid of me, I'll give them something to be afraid of and give them a good chase every time I see them. I do have a few quirks like I don't like to be pushed away (like pushed down from begging at the table or pushed off a lap) and I might bite. Also, if I feel like your feet are coming a little too close to my body in a way that scares me I might bite. These things are few and far between but they are worth noting. If you are patient with me and don't play into the 'I'm going to show this dog who is boss' type of mentality, I will love you unconditionally. Simba is being fostered in Millbury. His adoption fee is $100. If you are interested in finding out more about Simba, please fill out an application on our website by copying and pasting the following link into your browser: http://www.brokentailrescue.org/adoption-application/ We expect that all adopted dogs will enroll in a formal dog training class with their new owners. Obedience and training classes are an excellent way to learn more about your newly adopted dog, gain handling and training experience, and improve your relationship with your pet. 'Like' Broken Tail Rescue on Facebook! NOTE: Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 17-09-20-00042Beck (male)
Beck is a 3 year old pomeranian-chihuahua mix originally from Texas. This little man can be extremely shy at first so he will need an adopter who will be patient with him while he gets settled in. He will do much better in a home with another dog, so we are asking for adopters only with other pets. He is also still working on leash training so a home with a fenced in yard is ideal. He will take some time to come around but we believe that this little guy has a lot of love to give to the right person. Beck weighs about 10 pounds. He is being fostered in Massachusetts and is looking for his forever home - could it be yours? Adoption fee is $450, which includes spay/neuter, microchip, USDA transport, vaccines, health certificate and Massachusetts mandatory animal quarantine. If you'd like to apply for Beck or any of our other dogs, please fill out our application online here: http://www.yellowroserescue.org/adoption-application If you have any questions about fostering or adopting a dog please contact Yellow Rose Animal Rescue directly at email@example.com. Pomeranian Dogs can make good pets in Massachusetts if they match your IifestyIe. The Pomeranian is a poufy, fox-like toy breed. Pomeranians are vivacious and intelligent. This breed may become skittish around very young, rambunctious kids. Pomeranians need consistent, thorough obedience training. Pomeranians do fine living in an apartment if they get enough exercise.
