Sammy was found wandering the roads and was rescued by a very nice lady. He is a very loving dog but gets scared easily and when he gets scared he can be snarky! He will need someone that understands that and be aware of it. I do not recommend a home with children. He has been neutered and is up to date on shots and micro-chipped. We have been working on house training but it will need to be continued by his new family. He is a very loving dog and I imagine as he settles in with his new family he will do very well. He has a tendency to follow his foster dad around right now so he does like men! If you have any questions please feel free to ... (Read More)contact me at ADOPTION FEE IS $250 (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 14-10-12-00105Abby (female)

Pomeranian Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Not Good w/ Other Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Very High Energy
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current, Fearful/Anxious

Abby is a 12-month-old Pomchi that was surrendered to us by one of our clients 3 months ago or so for excessive barking. She's predominantly a fear barker & lived in an apartment, which wasn't a good mix. Since we've had her, we've discovered other quirks as well. In general, she's an anxious dog that needs a quiet home that's okay with a high energy dog that is fear aggressive, loathes dogs larger than 15 lb, & takes a while to warm up to new people, but once she does she'll be their best friend. We've been working with a behaviorist & plan to continue to do so. She's currently being fostered in her veterinarian's home, but given her hatred ... (Read More)of her other dog, it's not an ideal situation but it's currently our best option. She's not a cuddler, but loves to play fetch & perform commands for praise &/or food. When she's anxious, her initial coping mechanism is barking, excessive scratching, & scooting. Those resolve within seconds of her becoming 'comfortable'. She clearly has issues, but she'll be a doll in the right home with the right family. In fact, if Dr. Bouverette would just get rid of her 10-year-old dog, Abby would be happy as a clam! (But that's not going to happen.) (Less)
