Pomeranian Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Meryl is listed on our site as a TERRIER/PUG mix, not Westie, but unfortunately TERRIER in general is not a choice on this site...so I picked Westie as being close.Meryl was born about August 31, 2012 and weighs about 30 lbs. She is a leggy little thing that came to us from a 'repeat supplier' (those who take in free to good home dogs, keep them awhile, tire of them, and pass them on) as a Pug/Pom mix, but we are struggling with the breed and really have no clue, she's really mixed. She is said to be good around kids of all ages, good on leash and fine in the car. We are told she was house trained, but this was not a very good environment ... (Read More)if you know what I mean, and she may need a little touch up once she is moved again. She is a cutie that would like a little stability in her life from now on. She is wonderful with the other dogs. (Less)

Pomeranian Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Cam was born about December 9, 2009 and weighs about 11 pounds. No, kidding, this guy is CUTE!!! He won our hearts over shortly after arriving. He is going to make someone very, very, happy. I can't imagine how he was given up because his humans were too busy, but if that was the case then he is better off here because we all love him. When he leaves us we'd like for him to have a doggie friend as that is what he is used to and we are told he has some anxiety when being left alone and we've seen that just having another dog around helps with that. His main purpose in life is snuggling and loves to be under blankets. Cam ... (Read More)is good on leash, good with cats and did great with toddlers around his last home. As with so many small dogs they struggle with house training and he is used to having potty floor pads handy for those occasions that he just can't hold it. He'll be waiting for your application, but no hurry, we love having him. (Less)

Great pom, absolutely gorgeous, good with a retired couple who are home and he likes adults, not good with kids, he's great with me and a really good dog, I take him everywhere, he loves the car and a bellyrub. He goes with me to cvs and stays in the front of the shopping cart. Loves to b held and he gets close with whoever feeds him and plays with him. I love him very much and he has brought so much joy in my life but I have a blood cancer and I will have a bone marrow transplant and I cant have any animals because I cant have any germs and I will b in hospital a couple of months, I love my dog more then anything so he needs a special ... Rescue Me ID: 14-10-13-00811Snowball Owen (male)

Pomeranian Mix    Age: Senior

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Submissive
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Snowball was born about March 27, 2001 and weighs about 15 lbs. This cute little bugger was left at a high kill shelter because the owner could no longer have them. They said he's a little shy, but a really nice little dog and he listens well. Snowball is good on leash and did well on the long car ride here. We are told that he's not great around little kids, they make him nervous. He's been nothing but sweet to all of us and the other dog that was his travel mate and now his roommate. He seems to be in decent health for his age, no known problems. As with most Chias he struggles with house training and would probably benefit from ... (Read More)being let out often and, perhaps, potty floor pad availability. So, adoptions have been strong and we had room to rescue 29 dogs and 3 gorgeous cats from a high kill area. Not one complained about the long ride and all have settled in nicely. Many of them seem to have understood, right away, that they were now safe in our Dog House with fresh blankets, lots of Science Diet food, automatic waterers and even toys! It gets a little confusing when getting files ready for so many at once, so if a breed, size, age seems questionable with the photos shown, please let us know. We are doing the best we can to save as many as we can. We so appreciate your understanding and willingness to adopt a dog we know little about that would have been dead, within a few days, if they had not come here. We always test out of towners for heart worm. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 14-10-13-00803Rubin Princeton (male)

Pomeranian Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Most Cats
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Rubin was born about January 27, 2010 and weighs about 15 lbs. Is he cute or what?!?!?!? This little guy is extremely loving, fun, and funny, but he does need some warm up time and, we feel, an adult home. He's told us that small children screaming, chasing and grabbing at him make him nervous, it does some of us humans too. Rubin is good in a car, wonderful with other dogs, and good with cats. He is with us after being dropped at a high kill shelter by his family as 'unwanted'. How very, very, sad that our domestic pets are treated like last year's Apple product. Oh, like to many small dogs Rubin is going to benefit from having a ... (Read More)potty floor pad handy when his tiny self can't wait any longer. Rubin is ready to warm your lap and will be here waiting to hear from you! (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 14-10-13-00801Pru Bonadio (female)

Pomeranian Mix    Age: Senior

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

The Bonadio Group, 171 Sully's Trail, Pittsford, NY sponsored the transport that brought 40 dogs north out of a high kill pound in TN. How high kill???? Well, while Katie was busy making the very difficult choices she has to make down there, she accidentally entered the wrong door and there was Emma a healthy, young, medium sized, black girl who was on a table, tail just a wagging not minding that her arm was being shaved, while enjoying all the attention she was getting from a couple of the staff. Little did she realize that the needle that was now 2 inches from her arm was going to stop her heart from beating and her tail would never ... (Read More)wag again. The procedure was STOPPED and Emma was immediately loaded in the truck! We also took George who was next in line because they couldn't afford to treat him and he was painfully thin. We are working on George and hope that it is only worms and we'll be able to make him better. He is one really sweet boy and we love him already. We also took a pretty, really sweet, Cocker named Sammy who has massive ear infections, one eye is turned rather inside out and the other looks odd so he will need some very special vet care, but we have him in the best foster home for the blind and he's happy as can be. There are 37 others with their own stories, but these are the three heart breakers so far. The staff at his shelter do the best they can and truly love these dogs but their resources are incredibly limited. Thank you Bonadio Group, an accounting, business and financial services firm providing audit, tax and business consulting services, for making this trip, which runs about $800.00, possible!!!!! All dogs from the south are heart worm tested, but they cannot be tested until they are about 6 months old. So, if you choose a puppy from this group you must keep that puppy on heart worm 'preventative' at least through it's 7th month just in case it is carrying the larvae. As for Pru, don't tell her she is older, she doesn't want to hear it. When you look into her eyes you will smile and forget her age too. You'll want to love her to pieces for as long as she has left. She was born about August 23, 2002 and weighs 15 lbs. She is wonderful with other dogs and did fine on the ride here. She is wiggly, happy, and ready to snuggle. She will be getting a dental soon so be ready to see those pearly whites! This is all we know so far, we'll be learning as we go. (Less)

Bear and Angel belonged to a senior who fell on hard times. We took them in to foster care in the hopes that their owner could find housing that allowed dogs, but they found nothing within their available budget. They have asked we rehome them. They are in a foster home together, but are ok separated. They are good with all animals and children. Please email Adoptions@pawsunitepeople.com for more information. Adoption fee applies.

I am a 2 year old Pom/Chi. I am, oh so tiny! I am house trained and crate trained. I love to cuddle and sleep under the covers with you. But, I will also sleep in my crate. I like playing with my foster brothers and sisters, as long as they are small like me. I find big dogs to be too scary for me. I am not yet neutered. But, I will be soon.

Pomeranian Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Adult Men Only
Personality: Average Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

I adopted Marco from a rescue organization 6 months ago. He prefers my husband over me and has possession issues. He would do well where the only dog is. He gets along with my other dog which is a male Peke but he would prefer not to compete with another dog or cat. He will happy sit at your feet or lap for hours. I currently have (3) cats and he gets along with (2) male cats but not the female cat. He is 99% housebroken, he can use a dog door but if scolded for inappropriate behavior he messes in the house.

Though it is surprising in light of its small size, the Pomeranian is closely related to the German Spitz. A Pomeranian puppy is about the size of a human thumb. Paris Hilton has three lap dogs that are all Pomeranians. Pomeranians have been used as circus performers.
