Pomeranian    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Submissive
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Peyton and Riley go together like peas and carrots and stick together like two peas in a pod!! These two have been together their entire lives and may even be father and daughter. They are very much bonded and must be adopted together. We rushed in to rescue these precious Pommys when their owner posted them on Craiglist with the possibility of Peyton being pregnant, as we didn't want them to fall into the wrong hands. A month later Peyton went into heat and we couldn't be more happier that she wasn't subjected to bearing another litter of pups. Both have the sweetest dispositions, but were obviously not socialized or cared for much in their previous home. They need a quiet home and someone willing to help them work through their fears of this world. It's very easy to see that they both want to break free of the mental anguish that binds them, they just need that patient, caring person to get them over the hurdle. Peyton is 3-5 years old, weighs 8 pounds, and is house trained. She is so sweet and timid, but loves to be held. Peyton loves to have the freedom of a fenced yard and really comes out of her shell when outdoors. If indoors, she likes to find a small room or corner to stay in (more than likely what she was used to in her old home). Riley is 4-5 years old and weighs 11 pounds. Riley was lifting his leg on occasion in his foster home, but never once when he had a belly band on. He has also been doing much better since his neuter and does well going outside. Peyton and Riley are both crate trained, current on vaccines (rabies, distemper/parvo, and bordatella), spayed and neutered, microchipped, and have had bloodwork, fecal and heartworm tests, and recent dentals. To adopt these special Pommys, submit on online application at http://PawsitivelyPom.rescuegroups.org. Their adoption fee is $200/each (discounted to $150/each for senior citizens 65+). (Less)

Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament

Blackie is a spaniel mix who is currently in a rescue out of state where he's not getting any adopter interest. They are crowded due to high summer intake and few adoptions. Please submit an application if you are interested in Blackie and we will arrange his transport to local foster care to meet you. Blackie is good with dogs and cats. He has been living outdoors, so will most likely need housebreaking training. Spaniel mix, 3 years, 25 lb, black with some white on chest. He was dumped at someone's house 2 years ago and now they surrendered him to rescue for rehoming due to moving. He's been groomed and the rescue is working on getting him ... (Read More)a dental. Rescue Me ID: 15-07-23-00239Layla (female)

Pomeranian    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Submissive
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

What'll you do when you get lonely and nobody's waiting by your side? You turn and sing to Layla just like Eric Clapton did. Our sweet Layla is a beautiful brindle Pomeranian, just 8 pounds, and between 4-5 years old. She came into our care with two other Pomeranians when their owner posted them on Craigslist and noted the two females were possibly pregnant. We rushed in, no wanting them or their possible unborn pups to fall into the wrong hands. None of them were well taken care of and were matted and terrified. After six weeks in our care, x-rays confirmed neither girl was pregnant, and they are all slowly coming out of their ... (Read More)shells. While Layla is the most adaptable and was able to be separated from the other two Poms, we wouldn't label her as social, but definitely a butterfly. She loves to dance as if she were a butterfly and running in the yard with her furry friends (both dogs and cats alike). Layla is shy with people at first, but quickly adjusts and will readily give kisses if you find that secret spot under her chin. She is nearly house trained now; she will sleep through the night and go straight out to potty in the morning. She will also use puppy pads if they are available to her when the need arises. Layla is looking for a patient person to help her build her self-confidence. We would not put her into a home with young children (or grandchildren who visit daily). She would do best with a fenced in yard as she loves to run in an open yard and is still getting used to being on a leash. Layla is going to make someone a very special and loving companion! If you would like to give Layla the life she has always deserved, you can submit an online adoption application at http://PawsitivelyPom.rescuegroups.org. Our adoption fee is $250 (discounted to $150 for senior citizens 65+) and covers her medical exams, spay, vaccines (rabies, bordatella, and two distemper/parvo boosters), microchip, heartworm and fecal tests, and recent dental. Pomeranian    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Meet Miss Kassidy!! She is around 8 years old and weighs 8 pounds. Kassidy is one very special girl who deserves a new life that is full of nothing but love, kisses, and attention!! Lord knows she certainly deserves it!! Kassidy spent her entire life in an Amish puppy mill where she produced many babies over the years. She is just a tiny little thing for this big world we live in, so she needs a calm, even-keeled owner who will gently introduce her to new experiences. She loves to be held and petted, but is still getting used to being picked up (she gets stiff as a board). Sophie has never spent any time on a leash and loves the ... (Read More)freedom of running in a grassy yard, so she would do best in a home with a fenced yard. She is good with dogs and cats and can only be placed in a home with older children due to her size. Kassidy does well in a crate and is nearly housebroken. She is fearful of walking on laminate flooring, so please do not apply if the majority of your home consists of it. The Amish man said she injured her back right leg over a year ago, but he obviously continued to breed her. She came to us with her leg crippled and twisted behind her rear in a way that no dog's leg should go. X-rays revealed that her hip had been dislocated and because she is not showing any pain, the injury did happen a long time ago. Unfortunately, a dislocated hip must be fixed within 24 hours to avoid surgical intervention (pins, plates, etc.). On top of her hip, both back knees are considered grade 4 patellas and both are sitting medially. This means that both back kneecaps are sitting on the inside of her legs. However, THERE IS HOPE FOR KASSIDY! She has a consult scheduled with a board-certified orthopedist at the end of June. If she is able to fix Kassidy's hip, she can save the leg and then look at repairing her knes. However, we just don't know if the damage has existed for far too long for surgical intervention. It will be several, long months until Kassidy is cleared for adoption, however, she is available for a foster-to-adopt situation. She has been heartworm/lyme and fecal tested, microchipped, brought current on rabies, distemper/parvo, and bordatella vaccines, had bloodwork, and X-rays. She will still need to be spayed, given a dental, and her orthopedic procedures before she can be technically adopted. That gives the rescue the financial responsibility to see that she is made whole rather than the adopter. If you would like to foster-to-adopt Kassidy or to adopt her once she is medically cleared, please submit an application at http://PawsitivelyPom.rescuegroups.org. Her adoption fee is $250 (reduced to $150 for senior citizens 65 and older). (Less)

Pomeranian    Age: Senior

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

This cutie patootie is Brooke! She is a good 10 years old and weighs just 6 pounds. She is sweet as candy and just wants to be loved and give her love in return!! Brooke spent her entire life in an Amish puppy mill where she produced many babies over the years. She is just a tiny little thing for this big world we live in, so needs a calm, even-keeled owner who will gently introduce her to new experiences. She does well in a crate and does her best to make it to pee pads, but has just undergone testing for excessive urination issues. She also has insufficient tear production and will need to remain on over-the-counter eye drops. Brooke has been heartworm/lyme and fecal tested, microchipped, and had extensive blood work. She will also be spayed, brought current on rabies, distemper/parvo, and bordatella vaccines, and given a dental (with several tooth extractions likely). She is currently available to foster, and when all her medical procedures have been done and the doc gives her a clean bill of health, Brooke can be adopted!! If you would like to foster-to-adopt Brooke or to adopt her once she is medically cleared, please submit an application at http://PawsitivelyPom.rescuegroups.org.     Hi! My name is Willow and I would love to have a family of my own! I was rescued from a puppy mill where they kept me crated for six years. When they were done using me to make money, they wanted me gone. This great rescue swooped in to save me and a buddy. My foster family gave me a nice bath, trimmed my hair and gave me a pretty name...just like me! I am crate trained and learning to use pee pads in the house, as well as the outdoors. I love to go for walks and can easily keep up even with my short legs. Running in grass is a lot of fun and I really enjoy going for rides in a car. I like all my fosters brothers and sisters ...     Pomeranian Dogs can make good pets in Pennsylvania if they match your IifestyIe. The Pomeranian is a poufy, fox-like toy breed. Pomeranians are vivacious and intelligent. This breed may become skittish around very young, rambunctious kids. Pomeranians need consistent, thorough obedience training. Pomeranians do fine living in an apartment if they get enough exercise.
