Rescue Me ID: 15-08-20-00452Haven (female)

Pomeranian Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

I spent my entire life without a name...I guess the Amish mill man didn't really think I needed one to breed the puppies you find in puppy stores. After I served him for six years, he no longer had use for me and these beautiful ladies took me away in this thing called a car. Then they told me my name was Haven...as they quickly realized that I survived the mill by finding refuge within myself. In my life, I was taught to be seen and not heard. Maybe one day with the right person, I will transform into a social butterfly like some of the other Poms in my foster home...but for now, I will just go with the flow and whisk in and out of ... (Read More)rooms like a shadow out of the corner of your eye. They say I am an intelligent girl as I have no issues with grass and quickly learned what pups use it for. I have learned, seen, and heard so many new things in the past few weeks...but I have to say that beds...cozy, comfy beds...they are my favorite. I love to sleep in bed with my foster parents and I also get yummy treats during the day. They took me to the doctor recently and she told me I was a very healthy 6.5 lb Pomeranian/Papillon mix. My heart, trachea, and knees...all those things that Poms usually have issues with...well, mine are all good. My bottom jaw has receeded, but the doctor told me that happens sometimes and mine won't recede any further. She said it's okay when I get excited and dribble on my chest, and I'm glad she said that as I was worried I wasn't a normal dog. The doctor also scrunched up her nose and lips when she looked at my teeth and told my foster mama to start me on antibiotics before she even attempts to clean my teeth. I guess it doesn't matter much how many I may lose as my tongue already hangs out. She also gave me three weeks of pills because I tested positive for Anaplasma. It's a tick-borne disease that usually causes stiff joints and such, but three weeks from now and I'll be all clear and feeling better! They say people find solace and comfort in Haven, and that's exactly what I have to offer. A quiet little girl who just wants to love and be loved...I think I've earned it! To adopt Haven, submit an online application at http://PawsitivelyPom.rescuegroups.org. Her adoption fee is $250 (discounted to $150 for seniors 65+) and includes Haven's spay, current vaccinations (rabies, distemper/parvo, and bordatella), microchip, a dental, bloodwork, and heartworm and fecal tests. Rescue Me ID: 15-08-20-00383Dinah (female)

Pomeranian    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Meet Miss Dinah...this sweet baby girl came into rescue at no fault of her own. Her previous owners spent a bundle of money on her at a pet store when she was 8 months old. She came to us with all previous records, which indicated that one of her front legs was broken while still with the breeder. Her leg healed without surgery and if it wasn't for the puppy records, you'd never know a difference. Dinah's owners could no longer care for her and recently had a new baby. From the minute we picked this sweet girl up, she began scratching incessantly due to a flea infestation. Her poor skin was so pink, inflamed and hot to the touch. We ... (Read More)immediately started her on meds and medicated baths. Three weeks later, her skin is almost back to normal and her coat is growing back. She is only 2.5 years old, 7 pounds, and sweet, sweet, sweet!!! She is all about her person and will never leave your side. When you go to bed at night, you can count on Dinah right by your head...if not with one leg over your shoulder. She loves to give kisses and shower you with nothing but love. She is also trained to sit immediately. Although not a high energy Pom, she still has a lot of puppy in her and is no where near house trained yet and likes to bark for fun. Dinah needs an active family who likes to go for walks and socialize. She also needs a patient person to work with her on her dislike of grass and house training. Puppy 101 and beyond would be an excellent start. Because she will 'sit' instantly, she is a highly-trainable pup, she just needs a patient and consistent owner to teach her proper etiquette. To adopt Dinah, submit an online application at http://PawsitivelyPom.rescuegroups.org. Her adoption fee is $250 (discounted to $150 for seniors 65+) and includes current vaccinations (rabies, distemper/parvo, and bordatella), spay, microchip, a recent dental, and heartworm and fecal tests. Pomeranian    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Submissive
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Hope is an absolute dollbaby! She came to PPR from a puppy mill because she was wheezing. X-rays were good so we started her on medications for Bronchitis and she has responded well. Hope does walk in circles at times, which is often the case with pups who have lived in small crates their entire lives with nothing to do. Hope is a very social, loveable little girl and is so resilient...it is truly amazing. She is 90% housebroken, loves people, and loves other dogs. She has even been spotted playing with her furry foster siblings on occasion. Although the Amish mill owner said she was 6 years old, our vet said she could be 6-10 years ... (Read More)old and it's very hard to tell. Hope only weighs 5.4 pounds so she needs to go to a calm home without kids due to her size. She will make a great addition to some lucky family! She would also do best with a fenced-in yard as she never been on a leash. To adopt Hope, submit an online application at http://PawsitivelyPom.rescuegroups.org. Rescue Me ID: 15-08-20-00209Lil Bear (male)

Pomeranian    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Submissive
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Lil Bear is my name and snuggling is my new favorite thing! I am a sweet -year-old boy who loves affection and romping from time to time with my canine companions. I can be scared at first of new surroundings, but once I know it's safe, I am your personal teddy bear. I came from a home where there were 11 of us. My owner could no longer care for us and her adult sons would hit us with whatever was in their reach. I have severe hair loss on my rear end from flea infestation, but now that the fleas are gone my hair is growing in fast. I am also finishing three weeks of antibiotics as I contracted Lyme Disease in my previous home. I ... (Read More)would be a great boy in a home with other dogs and maybe even a respectful older child to call my own. All I want is love and security for the rest of my days. I am a bigger Pom of 14 pounds, but that's just all the more of me to love you with! I have a very expressive face and love to be talked to. My leash skills are not good so I will need a fenced yard and some training so I can go on walks. I have been a good boy and learned to potty outside already. I have not explored this wonderful world much yet, but I am excited to start my new life and have new experiences with a forever family. To adopt Lil Bear, submit an online application at http://PawsitivelyPom.rescuegroups.org.     P.J. recently came into the care of Pawsitively Pom Rescue. He is 2 years old and weighs just 9 pounds. P.J. lived in the home of a backyard breeder and was surrendered with many of his canine siblings. Although his coat is suffering from a previous flea infestation and poor nutrition, he will be back to his handsome self in no time. P.J. suffered years of abuse from his previous owner's sons. He requires a quiet home with adults only and one that will shower him with daily kisses. It is very important that everyone is his new home is conscious of not approaching him with an object raised in their hands. He has never been on a ... (Read More)leash and will need a fenced yard. His previous owner reports that he is not good with cats or children. He is very timid, but an easy going Pom, a dancer, begger, and loves to please. He also likes the girls and marks his territory; however, that should change with an attentive owner and no intact males/females in the home. If you are interested in putting P.J. on the pedestal where he belongs, please apply online at http://PawsitivelyPom.rescuegroups.org. Rescue Me ID: 15-08-04-00272Ayza (female)

Pomeranian    Age: Senior

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Low Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Ayza was picked up on the streets of Brooklyn after someone reported her as a stray. We wish we could tell you the type of home she lived in and the type of owner who would let her suffer so needlessly for so many years. But that is neither here nor there, as her life began the day she came into our care. This exquisite little lady is just seven pounds and at least 12 years old the doctor says. We rushed her to the vet the day she arrived, as her front left leg was five times its size with a wound that appeared to be down to the bone. The doctor immediately knew it was cancer and said there was absolutely no choice but to remove the ... (Read More)leg. Her concern was the horrid infection that had already set it. So she took x-rays to confirm the infection had not spread into the bone and she did a senior profile. In the interim, we started her on massive antibiotics to try to get the infection under control prior to surgery. Once the xrays and bloodwork came back great, she amputated a week later. The xrays also confirmed a hernia a severely collapsing trachea. All went well with the procedure, but the infection that had consumed her body came back to rear its ugly head. It took a culture and several weeks of the right antibiotic to heal sweet Ayza. She is awaiting her hernia repair, spay, and a dental, but needs a little break in between procedures. Although she does have a very narrow trachea, she has not coughed once since she arrived. She is completely housebroken, but has severe separation anxiety. She cannot be put into a crate, a pen, or closed in a room. She is happy as long as she can have access to you. She's not needy and sleeps most of the day. She used to howl the first week or two as she got used to her foster leaving for work. Now she goes back to bed without a second thought. She also loves to lay out in the yard and would stay there for hours if you'd let her; therefore, we are requiring a home with some type of a fenced enclosure so she can enjoy basking in the sun. We are looking for a foster-to-adopt home for Ayza; one that is fairly close to Harrisburg, PA, so she can finish out her medical plan. To foster-to-adopt Ayza, please submit an online application at http://PawsitivelyPom.rescuegroups.org. Our adoption fee is $250 (discounted to $150 for senior citizens 65+). The fee helps to reimburse us for her medical care. She is also current on vaccinations, microchipped, and has been heartworm and fecal tested. We will also cover the cost of her hernia repair, spay, and dental prior to her being officially adopted. (Less)

Peyton and Riley go together like peas and carrots and stick together like two peas in a pod!! These two have been together their entire lives and may even be father and daughter. They are very much bonded and must be adopted together. We rushed in to rescue these precious Pommys when their owner posted them on Craiglist with the possibility of Peyton being pregnant, as we didn't want them to fall into the wrong hands. Both have the sweetest dispositions, but were obviously not socialized or cared for much in their previous home. They need a quiet home and someone willing to help them work through their fears of this world. It's very easy to see that they both want to break free of the mental anguish that binds them, they just need that patient, caring person to get them over the hurdle. Peyton is 3-5 years old, weighs 8 pounds, and is house trained. She is so sweet and timid, but loves to be held. Peyton loves to have the freedom of a fenced yard and really comes out of her shell when outdoors. If indoors, she likes to find a small room or corner to stay in (more than likely what she was used to in her old home). Riley is 4-5 years old and weighs 11 pounds. Riley was lifting his leg on occasion in his foster home, but never once when he had a belly band on. He has also been doing much better since his neuter and does well going outside. Peyton and Riley are both crate trained, current on vaccines (rabies, distemper/parvo, and bordatella), spayed and neutered, microchipped, and have had bloodwork, fecal and heartworm tests, and recent dentals.     This cutie patootie is Brooke! She is a good 10 years old and weighs just 6 pounds. She is sweet as candy and just wants to be loved and give her love in return!! Brooke spent her entire life in an Amish puppy mill where she produced many babies over the years. She is just a tiny little thing for this big world we live in, so needs a calm, even-keeled owner who will gently introduce her to new experiences. She loves to be held and petted, but is still getting used to being picked up (she gets stiff as a board). Brooke has never spent any time on a leash, so she would do best in a home with a fenced yard. She is good with dogs and ... (Read More)cats and can only be placed in a home with older children due to her size. She does well in a crate and does her best to make it to pee pads, but has just undergone testing for excessive urination issues. She also has insufficient tear production and will need to remain on over-the-counter eye drops. Brooke has been heartworm/lyme and fecal tested, microchipped, and had extensive blood work. She will also be spayed, brought current on rabies, distemper/parvo, and bordatella vaccines, and given a dental (with several tooth extractions likely). She is currently available to foster, and when all her medical procedures have been done and the doc gives her a clean bill of health, Brooke can be adopted!!     Arf! Arf! I'm Josie, the most lady-like Pom you will ever meet! I may be 11 years old, but I'm full of playful energy, only 9 pounds, and just love to snuggle and get rubs. I was surrendered to a rescue with terrible hair loss due to a flea infestation and Cushing's Disease. This wonderful group of people saw that I received the proper testing and treatment that I need, so here I am! I no longer have those nasty flea biting critters crawling in my fur and have finally started the medicine needed to keep the Cushing's under control. The rescue did have a specialist conduct and ultrasound to confirm that my Pituitary is the cause of ... (Read More)Cushing's. That just means I have to take a pill once a day. I am hoping to find a family that will love me and continue to care for me. The rescue will also ensure that I receive a dental and spay and have both my back knees (patellas) surgically corrected. I will need yearly testing done to ensure that my Cushing's is under control but am otherwise a normal pup expected to live for many more years! I have a little attitude with new people for the first few minutes, but once I realize you won't hurt me I am putty in your hand. I love other dogs and really love toys! Won't you give me my second chance? My adoption fee is $250 (reduced to $150 for senior citizens 65 and older), which covers all of the above, plus my rabies, distemper and bordatella vaccines, microchip, and heartworm and fecal tests. Pomeranian    Age: Adult

Truffle is a 7-year-old male Pomeranian and weighs 12 pounds. He lived with his original owners his entire life and came to us after their divorce. He knows quite a few commands and loves to turn in circles for treats. He does have a few quirks that are easily manageable: he can be toy aggressive with other dogs, but that seemed to diminish after the first week or two; he's not the biggest fan of brushing/grooming, so we simply take him to the groomer once a month; he will bolt out the door if given the chance, but a firm 'sit and stay' command does the trick; and he needs a refresher in proper potty habits when he first comes into a ... (Read More)new home. Truffle would do best in a home without cats as we are told he caught a squirrel once and it didn't go so well for the poor squirrel. He looks for guidance and loves to please. Truffle is neutered, up-to-date on rabies, parvo/distemper, and bordatella vaccines, microchipped, has been dewormed, fecal and heartworm/lyme/erlichia/ and anaplasmosis tested, and has been started on monthly heartworm and flea/tick preventative.
