Rescue Me ID: 14-10-20-00334Love Bug (female)

Pomeranian    Age: Senior

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Woof Woof! My name is Love Bug and I am looking for my forever companion to spend retirement with. I am 13 years young and have lived a very rough life. I was rescued by some nice people who were alerted to the horrible conditions I was living in. I was a breeder for my human, having over 30 puppies in four years. My last litter almost killed me! After all the money I made for my family, I was left to live in deplorable conditions and was in really bad shape when I was rescued. Both my eyes were infected, I had severe pneumonia and bronchitis, my teeth were rotten, my fur was matted and caked with feces, and I had an untreated hernia. ... (Read More) But I am a survivor, and the vet gave me a good prognosis! They prescribed me all kinds of medicine which I was none too happy about, but do you know what? I am all better now! In a few weeks I will be able to have surgery to remove all those nasty teeth and fix my hernia. Unfortunately, my coat could not be saved, but I feel so much better now! I'm certain it will be back by winter. I am super smart! I learned how to sit in just two days and learned to potty outside within a week. Some things are still an adjustment for me, but I love sleeping in my crate on a comfy bed and just being near my people. I don't like sleeping in the big people bed right now, but maybe one day! I am an expert at walking on the leash and like to go for short walks. I even enjoy wearing stylish clothing now to! I am a sweet girl who just wants to be near you and get my butt scratched. I get along with other dogs and children very well. Don't let my age fool you because I am full of life and have lots on my bucket list! Will you be in my forever retirement home? (Lovebug is 13 years old and weighs 18 pounds. She is current with vaccines, microchipped, heartworm/lyme and fecal tested, spayed, and has had xrays and bloodwork done. She will also have a dental and hernia repaired prior to adoption. If you are interested in giving this lovebug a wonderful home, please submit an application at http://PawsitivelyPom.rescuegroups.org. Our adoption fee is $250 (discounted to $150 for those senior citizens 65 and older). (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 14-10-14-00258Mona (female)

Pomeranian Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Low Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

This adorable fluffball is Mona! Mona is around 3-5 yrs old and not much is known about her history, other than she was surrendered to a shelter in Philly by her owners when they were moving. They did not leave much information about Mona, but she was lucky enough to score herself a fantastic foster home. Mona is sweet, but can be a little bit quirky. Hey, come on now, we all have our moments....! Mona can be distrusting of new people and may take some time to warm up to new people and situations. She is a low maintenance companion and would be a good for someone looking for a smaller dog who is well mannered in the home and does not bark ... (Read More)too much. Mona, by extension, would do best in a home without young kids, and with people who understand she will give affection more on her terms. She is around 18-20 lbs (perfect for apartment living). She looks like she could be a schipperke and/or pomeranian mix. While Mona can be aloof with snuggles she will come to you at times for pets, and absolutely LOVES squeaky toys. While she is not a destructive dog she will decapitate most squeaky dog toys :) She also loves to play fetch with you, and enjoys having people around her for company. Mona also loves to go for car rides and is a great copilot. Mona is housebroken, crate trained, and lives with other dogs and cats. She is fine with other animals as long as they give her space and do not startle her. Mona would do best with another low key dog, or cats who will mind their own business. She is generally happy to coexist with both dogs and cats though, after an introduction period. While Mona may take a little time to warm up she is a great little dog with lots to give, and will be a great companion, once she settles into a new place. (Less)

Pomeranian    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

My name is Sweet Pea and that's exactly what my caretakers think of me. The doctor says I am about 8-9 years old and weigh 15 pounds. They don't know much about my past, because I came from a very bad situation. I had 8 other Pommy siblings, but one of them died before our rescue could get to us. Before that, there were tons and tons of baby dogs in the house, as we were all used to make our humans money. I'm a very friendly girl and I really love any human that will show me affection. I'm very afraid of this world though. You see, I wasn't really taken outside nor was I petted all that often. So, I just need you to know that I'm a ... (Read More)good girl, but I cower to the floor when you come near. I will wag my tail to show you that I want you near, but all this attention is going to take some getting used to. I also need a little bit of patience with me learning to use the grass to go potty. In my old home, all nine of us tried to be good dogs and we used the puppy pads, but after a while, those pads were all full and we all went potty anywhere we could. I'm also learning to sleep in bed with my caretaker, but I haven't yet been secure enough to stay with her all night. I like other dogs and my caretaker is trying to tell me that it's not ok to growl when I'm finally getting attention and another dog comes near. I'm too scared to take a big leap and like taking baby steps. There was a kitten in my old home, but they kept her in another room, so my rescue doesn't know if I tolerate cats or not. I'm just a very good little girl and I need someone to love me and teach me that this world is not full of terrible people. I will give you my everything if you give me yours!! Rescue Me ID: 14-10-06-00369Ziggy (male)

Pomeranian    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Although Ziggy was taken from a very bad hoarding situation, this lil guy is sweet, sweet, sweet! He love people and other animals, but he is shy and unsure of new things. Ziggy never had toys to play with nor was he taken out into the yard, so he will need a patient person to help him through his house training, and a fenced in yard is absolutely required. Puppy pads were used in the home he came from, so he does use the pee pads in his play pen. Due to his upbringing, he should be in a calmer home with a companion dog and without young children. He is a quiet little fella who delights in being held like a baby and will need continued ... (Read More)socialization. Consistent feedings and fresh water are also new to Ziggy, so small meals twice a day prevent him from eating to fast and overeating, which will also prevent him from vomiting. He rides well in the car and doesn't mind cats. Ziggy is estimated to be 6 years old and is 6.5 pounds. He has been brought current on vaccinations, neutered, microchipped, heartworm and fecal tested, and provided monthly heartworm and flea preventative. He will be available after his dental cleaning on October 15, 2014. We do expect Ziggy to lose most all of his teeth. Pomeranian Mix    Age: Senior

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Low Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Lydia is an 11-year-old brown and white Parti Pom, weighing in at 8.5 pounds. She was dumped in a high-kill shelter with her coat matted so bad that they had to shave her to the skin. She also had a mouth full of rotten teeth and the largest bladder stones our vet has ever seen. Ms. Lydia is just about as sweet as they come. All she wants to do is relax by her owner's side. She has low energy, but does get very excited when it's time to eat or go for a walk or car ride. She does very well on a leash and with other dogs. We do not foresee cohabitating with cats an issue either. She will require a high quality diet to ward off any ... (Read More)bladder stones from recurring. Lydia deserves a senior owner to spend her golden years with. She is spayed, current on vaccinations, and microchipped. Rescue Me ID: 14-07-23-00150Kokomo (female)

Pomeranian    Age: Adult

Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current, Blind,
 Incontinent

[Read About Natural Incontinence Care] Hi! My name is Kokomo, or Koko for short. Aren't I the most beautiful girl you have ever seen? I am looking for a long-term foster home or foster-to-adopt family. I just really want a place I can call home. I am 8 years old and came from a shelter where my owner surrendered me due to chronic kidney infections. Turns out I have diabetes, but my previous owners chose to not treat me. This caused me to have deadly high blood sugars. That is when I came to Pawsitively Pom Rescue. The nice people here take really good care of me and have been working hard to get my sugar regulated. Don't be scared ... (Read More)though, diabetes is treatable and I can live just as long as any healthy dog. Unfortunately, due to my diabetes being neglected I lost my sight. That is okay though because I am adjusting well. I can see shadows in well lit areas and make my way around the house just like my foster brothers and sisters do. I do need help with steps though for my own safety, but if someone would work with me I would master them in no time! I am the sweetest girl in the world and love attention. I get along with the other dogs in my house after my initial introduction. It is a little scary meeting new pups since I can't see them but in a few minutes I am okay and off to explore. I love to walk around on my back legs and this is how I cope with my loss of vision. I know my foster mom will teach you everything you need to know about my care if you can love me and give me a home. It is really easy to do and I am a perfect patient. I figure if I behave for my testing and insulin then I can get a treat so I make sure to be really calm! I listen very well, walk perfectly on a leash, and know simple commands like sit and come. My foster mom believes I am house trained, but right now I am recovering from bladder stone surgery and hope to be able to hold my bladder for longer periods of time. Until my sugar is regulated and the rescue feels that I am at a point where I don't have to visit the nice doctor so often, I will stay in foster care. These people that saved me want to cover the costs of all medical care until they are confident that I am happy and healthy. If you are within a 2-hour drive of Harrisburg, PA, and have experience with diabetes or are home most of the time and can give me lots of love and attention, please go to their website and fill out a foster application at http://PawsitivelyPom.rescuegroups.org.      Kato is a one year old Pomeranian who weighs just 9 pounds. He is a sweet and gentle little boy who is just about completely house trained. He is going to be neutered in the morning, and we are hoping that tones down some of his high energy. He needs an owner between 30-50 years old that is active and willing to take him to puppy 101 class and teach him puppy etiquette. He is an absolutely stunning young boy with beaver eyes and nose. Pomeranian    Age: Adult

Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Truffle is a 7-year-old male Pomeranian and weighs 12 pounds. He lived with his original owners his entire life and came to us after their divorce. He knows quite a few commands and loves to turn in circles for treats. He does have a few quirks that are easily manageable: he can be toy aggressive with other dogs, but that seemed to diminish after the first week or two; he's not the biggest fan of brushing/grooming, so we simply take him to the groomer once a month; he will bolt out the door if given the chance, but a firm 'sit and stay' command does the trick; and he needs a refresher in proper potty habits when he first comes into a ... (Read More)new home. Truffle would do best in a home without cats as we are told he caught a squirrel once and it didn't go so well for the poor squirrel. He looks for guidance and loves to please. Truffle is neutered, up-to-date on rabies, parvo/distemper, and bordatella vaccines, microchipped, has been dewormed, fecal and heartworm/lyme/erlichia/ and anaplasmosis tested, and has been started on monthly heartworm and flea/tick preventative.
