Rescue Me ID: 16-01-29-00322Annie (female)

Pomeranian    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Very Submissive
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Red-headed Annie just sticks up her chin and brings the sunshine in no matter the day. You see, Annie is a Trooper and has spent all of prior days in an Amish puppy mill and is now learning what it is like to live outside the mill. It's a big, scary world for Annie and she tries so hard each and every day to push her fears aside to trust humans. This beautiful redhead is 6-8 years old and weighs 13.5 lbs. She is very attached to the security that a pen or crate brings as she has spent her entire life inside of one. However, she has determined that she loves to be petted and is approaching her foster mama more and more. Annie has ... (Read More)also learned that humans give these tasty things called treats and is now taking them from our fingertips. Annie is no where near a social dog and cannot be expected to walk right up to someone with her tail wagging. She will, however, offer you sweet, gentle love and will become a constant companion to a kind, gentle, and patient person. A prospective adopter needs to have some knowledge on the demeanor of puppy mill dogs...you must give them time while SLOWLY helping them work through their fears. In the mill, she was never outside in the grass let alone on a leash. She learned to hold her bladder and bowels for as long as possible, but has now learned the freedom of a doggy door and will maybe have one accident a day while she is crated in her pen. It's only been a few weeks since Annie has come into our care and she hasn't decided if steps are something she wants to tackle yet, but we are sure that with time and consistency, she will take them with leaps and bounds. She also played with a toy yesterday, so we are excited to see where time will take her with playing and fetching. A FENCED YARD IS REQUIRED FOR ANNIE, ALONG WITH A QUIET HOME WITHOUT CHILDREN OR GRANDCHILDREN. SHE WILL ALSO DO BEST WITH ANOTHER DOG IN THE HOME, AS ANOTHER DOG WILL HELP ALLEVIATE HER FEARS IN A NEW HOME AND TEACH HER HOW TO BE A DOG. We know there are special people out there who want to help these scared mill babies...and you are exactly what Annie needs. If you would like to give Annie the life she's always deserved, please submit an application at http://PawsitivelyPom.rescuegroups.org. She has been brought current on core vaccines (Rabies, two Distemper boosters, and Bordatella), spayed, microchipped, heartworm and fecal tested, and had a dental cleaning. Her adoption fee of $250 (reduced to $150 for senior citizens 65+) will help reimburse some of the vet care she has received. (Less)

Pomeranian    Age: Senior

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

My name is Taffy and I am an active senior girl looking for my retirement home. I am 11 years old and came to Pawsitively Pom Rescue from a high-kill shelter where my previous owner surrendered me. The shelter labeled me with a guarded prognosis, but I showed my foster family that I have many years left in me. My mouth was full of infected teeth and my gums were severely inflamed so the nice vet lady gave me a dental and removed some yucky teeth. I am a well-trained girl so I only potty outside, I walk on a leash like a pro and even do little tricks to get your attention. I do have a heart murmur, but there are no signs of heart ... (Read More)failure, and a collapsing trachea so I do cough at times. I am on medicine for my cough which helps, but there are days that I have a few coughing fits. I am partial to the man of the house, but have learned that my foster mom is a good source for rubs to. My favorite thing to do is eat treats and sleep in the human's bed. I like other dogs and even initiate play with them. My wish is to find my forever home that will love me and spoil me for the years I have left. I think I would do good in any type of home since I am quick at adjusting. To adopt me, apply at http://PawsitivelyPom.rescuegroups.org. Myadoption fee of $250 reimburses for my spay, dental, core vaccines (rabies, bordatella, and distemper/parvo), microchip, and heartworm and fecal tests. (Less)

[Read About Natural Incontinence Care] Arf! Arf! My name is Penny and I am quite the catch! I am sweet as can be looking for a family just for me! I came from a horrible past where I was abused and hit by a car. That doesn't stop me from being happy as can be and giving lots of kisses. I need a family that will give me the special care I need. My left hip was broken and the last vertebrae before my tail were fractured. The bones have healed, but not without damaging my nerves. I walk and run and play, but my back paws need wrapped so that they don't fold over and I can walk on my pads, not the top of my paws. The accident also left ... I need diapers because I leak and someone that will love me so much, they will help me be active and as normal as possible. I am only 2 years old, weigh just 10 lbs., and have my whole life ahead of me. I would make a great fit for any home that will give me the love and care I need. Rescue Me ID: 15-07-30-00370Riley (male)

Pomeranian    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Submissive
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Peyton and Riley go together like peas and carrots and stick together like two peas in a pod!! These two have been together their entire lives and may even be father and daughter. They are very much bonded and must be adopted together. We rushed in to rescue these precious Pommys when their owner posted them on Craiglist with the possibility of Peyton being pregnant, as we didn't want them to fall into the wrong hands. A month later Peyton went into heat and we couldn't be more happier that she wasn't subjected to bearing another litter of pups. A FENCED YARD IS REQUIRED TO ADOPT PEYTON AND RILEY, AS WELL AS A HOME WITHOUT YOUNG ... (Read More)CHILDREN/GRANDCHILDREN. NO EXCEPTIONS. Both have the sweetest dispositions, but were obviously not socialized or cared for much in their previous home. They need a quiet home and someone willing to help them work through their fears of this world. It's very easy to see that they both want to break free of the mental anguish that binds them, they just need that patient, caring person to get them over the hurdle. Peyton is approx. 4 years old and weighs 8 pounds while Riley is approx. 5 years old and weighs 12 lbs. Both are kind, gentle and very quiet; however, Peyton does get very excited when you first come home and will bark for a few minutes to let you know how happy she is to see you. Peyton is afraid of steps and will need carried up/down while Riley does them like a pro. Both love the outdoors and a quiet, corner to lay in when indoors. They have come so far with housetraining, but still require patience and consistency. Riley also had a ruptured disc repaired in the middle of his back, which was surgically corrected and needs no further attention. He was also diagnosed with an auto inflammatory disease, which requires one pill twice daily to keep him pain free. He is also taking Prednisone daily and should be able to wean off this summer...this is part of the treatment plan for the auto inflammatory disease. Do not let this disease frighten you or scare you away as it is very easily managed with one pill morning and night. Peyton and Riley are both crate trained, current on vaccines (rabies, distemper/parvo, and bordatella), spayed and neutered, microchipped, and have had bloodwork, fecal and heartworm tests, and dentals. Riley has also seen a board-certified neurologist and has been MRI'd from head to toe with two spinal taps. To adopt these special Pommys, submit on online application at http://PawsitivelyPom.rescuegroups.org. Their adoption fee is $200/each (discounted to $150/each for senior citizens 65+). (Less)

Pomeranian    Age: Senior

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Submissive
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

This cutie patootie is Brooke! She spent 10 long years in a puppy mill where she ate, slept, and defecated all in the same small space. Brooke is very afraid of everything as she was never socialized with humans or other dogs. She needs a very caring and patient person who is willing to give her the life she's always deserved. Brooke will allow you to pick her up very slowly and loves to have her hiney scratched. Brooke has no interest in toys as she likely never played with them as a puppy and prefers to wander about the house to find 'a safe place to lay.' While she will do her business outside, she has yet to proper etiquette inside ... (Read More)the house. Puppy pads are a hit or miss for this little lady. Brooke has been with us for quite some time and has decided that she just doesn't trust the human hand enough to take treats from one. She prefers to sleep in a dog bed next to her human's bed and will wander in/out of the human bed on occasion. Brooke will also let you know that she doesn't like being left behind or left behind closed doors. She just wants to go everywhere with her and has decided that she really likes to ride in cars and strollers. BROOKE REQUIRES A HOME WITH A FENCED YARD AND WITHOUT CHILDREN OR GRANDCHILDREN. SHE NEEDS AN OWNER FAMILIAR WITH PUPPY MILL DEMEANORS AND SOMEONE WHO WILL GIVE HER THE LOVE AND PATIENCE SHE NEEDS. NO EXCEPTIONS. Brooke just wants a quiet place to spend her golden years. She is 10 years old, weighs 6 pounds, and has no health issues. If you would like to give Brooke a forever home, submit an application at http://PawsitivelyPom.rescuegroups.org. Pomeranian    Age: Senior

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Arf! Arf! I'm Josie, the most lady-like Pom you will ever meet! I may be 11 years old, but I'm full of playful energy, only 9 pounds, and just love to snuggle and get rubs. I was surrendered to a rescue with terrible hair loss due to a flea infestation and Cushing's Disease. This wonderful group of people saw that I received the proper testing and treatment that I need, so here I am! I no longer have those nasty flea biting critters crawling in my fur and have finally started the medicine needed to keep the Cushing's under control. The rescue did have a specialist conduct and ultrasound to confirm that my Pituitary is the cause of ... (Read More)Cushing's. That just means I have to take a pill once a day. I am hoping to find a family that will love me and continue to care for me. The rescue will also ensure that I receive a dental and spay and have both my back knees (patellas) surgically corrected. I will need yearly testing done to ensure that my Cushing's is under control but am otherwise a normal pup expected to live for many more years! I have a little attitude with new people for the first few minutes, but once I realize you won't hurt me I am putty in your hand. I love other dogs and really love toys! Won't you give me my second chance? My adoption fee is $250 (reduced to $150 for senior citizens 65 and older), which covers all of the above, plus my rabies, distemper and bordatella vaccines, microchip, and heartworm and fecal tests. If you fall in love with me before I have all my medical procedures done, the rescue will let you foster me in the interim while they pay all my medical costs. Rescue Me ID: 14-06-09-00211Truffle (male)

Pomeranian    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Truffle is a 7-year-old male Pomeranian and weighs 12 pounds. He lived with his original owners his entire life and came to us after their divorce. He knows quite a few commands and loves to turn in circles for treats. He does have a few quirks that are easily manageable: he can be toy aggressive with other dogs, but that seemed to diminish after the first week or two; he's not the biggest fan of brushing/grooming, so we simply take him to the groomer once a month; he will bolt out the door if given the chance, but a firm 'sit and stay' command does the trick; and he needs a refresher in proper potty habits when he first comes into a ... (Read More)new home. Truffle would do best in a home without cats as we are told he caught a squirrel once and it didn't go so well for the poor squirrel. He looks for guidance and loves to please. Truffle is neutered, up-to-date on rabies, parvo/distemper, and bordatella vaccines, microchipped, has been dewormed, fecal and heartworm/lyme/erlichia/ and anaplasmosis tested, and has been started on monthly heartworm and flea/tick preventative. His adoption donation is $250. If you are interested in adopting Truffle, please visit our website at http://PawsitivelyPom.rescuegroups.org for an application. (Less)

Zander is a beautiful red Pomeranian who is a laid back kind a guy!! He is 9.5 years old, weighs 13.5 pounds, and is completely housetrained. Zander has taken some time to rehabilitate as he came to us as an aggressive biter. He has reached the point where there is no aggressive tendencies, except if bathing, brushing, or clipping. He is a great dog and is waiting for that special someone who is willing to reach that mutual understanding with him and take him to the groomer to avoid any issues.
