Rescue Me ID: 16-05-10-00187Stella (female)

Pomeranian    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Low Energy, Submissive
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Stella is 8-9 years old and weighs 13 pounds. She was rescued from an Amish puppy mill where she was produced litter after litter her entire life. She is very shy and will need a patient, quiet home where she can blossom into the sweet dog we know she is. She is scared of this big world and needs time, love, reassurance from a human that promises to love her the rest of her days. The average Pom lives between 12-15 years with many living even longer, so she's got lots of days to blossom in a furever home. Stella needs a confident, low-key dog in the home to show her the ropes. While she is scares easily of new sounds, ... (Read More)surroundings, and people, she is very loving and just wants to be petted. She should also have a fenced yard; we are working on leash training her and there has been some progress, but she prefers doing her business outside on her own. This poor girl really needs someone that will devote their time and love to bring her out of her shell and help her learn proper potty habits. She has been doing better going outside, but often has indoor accidents. We see her potential and know there is a family that will love her and help her be the best dog she can be. No children/grandchildren in the home on a regular basis as calm is the key with puppy mill babies. She would actually do well in a senior home. To give Stella the life she has always deserved, submit an online application at PawsitivelyPom.rescuegroups.org. Her adoption fee is $250 ($150 for senior citizens 65+) and helps to offset the cost of her spay, dental, core vaccines (rabies, parvo/distemper, and bordatella), microchip, heartworm/lyme and fecal tests, and bloodwork. Rescue Me ID: 16-05-10-00167Chaz (male)

Pomeranian    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Chaz is the cutest little 6-pound, 4-year-old fluffy ball of happiness you will ever meet! His paws never stop prancing and his tail wags nonstop. Chaz was seized in a hoarding situation and has anxiety with new things, but after a few days he settles in. He can often be seen walking from room to room or walking 'round and 'round in circles. We can assure you this is not a health issue, but a result of anxiety in his previous life. His happy little butt never stops wiggling though! Chaz needs a calm home that will work on his fears to reduce his anxiety and a doggie companion would be helpful to guide him and show him everything is ... (Read More)okay. Chaz cannot go to a home with children as he is deathly afraid of even older kids. He prefers the man of the house, but loves pets from women as well. He allows men to pick him up, but is EXTREMELY wiggly when picked up by women. He has spent his life lifting his leg wherever he chose, so he will need a consistent routine and clear guidance to see him through successful housetraining. He wears a 'male wrap/belly band' at all times indoors and is slowly improving and learning what the green grass is for. He is leashed trained and will greatly benefit from Puppy 101 classes, daily walks, and continued socialization with people and other animals. He will not go down any steps, but going up just a couple is okay with him, so be prepared to carry him. Chaz is a very healthy boy, but does have two bad knees. They are not causing him any issues and glucosamine/chondroitin supplements will need to be given over his lifetime. Since he is only four years old, his adopter should expect that he will need both patellas repaired by an orthopedic surgeon at some point in his life. Chaz is a good boy and needs a patient, loving home of his own where he can learn how to be a dog. Did we mention he is adorable?!!! To give Chaz a furever home, submit an online application at PawsitivelyPom.rescuegroups.org. His adoption fee is $250 and includes (neuter, core vaccines (rabies, distemper/parvo, and bordatella), heartworm/lyme and fecal tests, and microchip. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 16-05-10-00159J.D. (male)

Pomeranian    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

J.D. is a social butterfly...full of energy and very loving to everyone he meets. It still amazes us that he was actually seized in a hoarding case and came through unscathed in his demeanor. He is estimated to be between 1-3 years old and currently weighs 7 pounds, but could stand to add a couple pounds. J.D. is full of life and just wants to play, play play. He would do best in a home with a fenced yard and with a playful companion dog so he can romp and play til he is content. J.D. is still very much a puppy at heart and would greatly benefit from Puppy 101 classes, daily walks, and continued socialization with people and other ... (Read More)animals. While J.D. has spent his entire short life lifting his leg wherever he chose, he will need a consistent routine and clear guidance to see him through successful housetraining. He wears a 'male wrap/belly band' at all times indoors and is slowly improving with learning what the green grass is for. J.D. loves to play with Fozzy, another Pom that was seized with him. They will play all day long, only taking a break long enough to play with toys. He needs a playful companion dog, but loves to sit on your lap and give kisses too. He is a very healthy boy with no major underlying issues. He is completing a round of antibiotics after testing positive for Anaplasmosis, which is a tick-related infection. After a three-week course of meds, he will be as good as new. To give J.D. a furever home, submit an online application at PawsitivelyPom.rescuegroups.org. Pomeranian Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Submissive
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Fozzy Wozzy is a Pom! Fozzy Wozzy is Part Papillon! Fozzy came into our care after being seized from a hoarding situation. He is approx. 3 years old and currently weighs 11 lbs. He is a precious soul, very quiet, but LOVES to play! He would do best in a home with a fenced yard and without children in elementary or junior high school. Fozzy scares easily and will cower and shy away from strangers. He will bark at anyone that comes into the home for the first few minutes while he assesses whether he can trust them. He would greatly benefit from Puppy 101 classes, daily walks, and continued socialization with people and other animals. ... (Read More)While Fozzy has spent his entire short life lifting his leg wherever he chose, he is doing extremely well in his foster home. He wears a 'male wrap/belly band' at all times indoors and 9 times out of 10, it is dry when we take it off...including in the morning. He will need a consistent routine and clear guidance to see him through successful housetraining. Fozzy loves to play with J.D., another Pom that was seized with him. Rescue Me ID: 16-05-06-00163Austin (male)

Pomeranian Mix    Age: Young Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

This is Austin. He is a three-month old puppy, and he is looking for his forever home with a loving family! He is one of the sweetest puppies we've ever had in our foster program. Austin is incredibly friendly and loving. He was rescued along with his littermates after they were abandoned as very young puppies on an impoverished Native American reservation in New Mexico. He is mixed breed and currently 7 lbs. Because of his small size currently, he is likely to be between 11-15 lbs when fully grown. He is currently being fostered by a veterinary student along with another member of his litter. He absolutely loves people, adores attention ... (Read More)and cannot get enough belly rubs. He knows 'sit' and can give a paw on command. He is currently trained to use puppy pads and does know to go outside on walks. He gets along well with other dogs and loves children he meets on walks on the street. He is not aggressive towards cats, but he is very interested in playing and chasing his foster's cat. He would probably not be best for a home with cats or would need training in order to learn not to play with and chase his feline friends. He s truly a special, sweet puppy and will make a wonderful, lifetime companion for a lucky family. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 16-03-08-00093Chloe (female)

Pomeranian Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Low Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Chloe is a tiny 6-pound, approx. 1-year-old PomChi that was born with a congenital issue called Hydrocephalus. This is a somewhat common condition in Chihuahuas in which the cerebrospinal fluid that covers the brain builds up and does not allow the skull to completely close. Chloe was born with this condition and has the largest opening in her skull that our vet and neurologist have ever seen. She is to be considered very fragile as the entire top of her head is missing the skull to protect her little noggin. We believe that this large opening has actually benefitted Chloe and kept the fluid pressure from building up and causing ... (Read More)seizures, which is the most common side effect with Hydrocephalus pups. She has been prescribed life-long Prilosec by the neurologist, which does not eliminate the current fluid in her brain, but will reduce any future production. Despite her condition, she fared extremely well during her neurological assessment. Other than the typical dome-shaped head and eyes that point outwards, Chloe is a healthy little girl. Chloe would do best with someone who has lots of time to dote on her as she is quite a lover and a Diva. To ensure her safety, only homes without children and young grandchildren will be considered. It is also important that her forever home have only small, calm pets with low energy. Chloe is currently kept in her own suite in her palace, away from any the possible dangers, such as playful dogs, stair steps, etc. Hydrocephalus pups normally do not house train, so when she is not being held, she has a spacious penned area that is lined with puppy pads. Being the Diva she is, Chloe will bark to let you know her area needs cleaned and she will be sure to tell you exactly how she wants her cleaned bedding placed and will inspect it to the T. Chloe came from an overcrowded 'rescue' down south and was infested with parasites, which have been since been eliminated. She is a pretty normal pup and is learning that a human hand means belly rubs and play time. She has just recently taken interest in toys and likes to say hi to the other dogs in her foster home. Her demeanor has gone from quite feisty to accepting being handled, even by the vets which is a big improvement. A potential adopter must understand Hydrocephalus and the symptoms that will progress over the years. We highly recommend yearly visits to a neurologist to review her behavioral/neurological status and medications and maintain the best possible treatment plan for Chloe. There is a surgery available, but one that is not to be considered lightly as serious risks and complications can occur. The prognosis for hydrocephalus depends on its duration and severity, and our sweet Chloe is by far an acute case. Chloe is a special girl that needs a special home to love her...and boy does she ever love you back and provide comical entertainment. Won't you be her happily ever after? Go to PawsitivelyPom.rescuegroups.org to give her a home of her own. Chloe's adoption fee is $250 (reduced to $150 for senior citizens 65+) and helps to cover the costs of her current vaccines (rabies, distemper, and bordatella), spay, microchip, heartworm and fecal tests, neurological assessment, and cranial ultrasound. Rescue Me ID: 16-01-29-00322Annie (female)

Pomeranian    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Very Submissive
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Red-headed Annie just sticks up her chin and brings the sunshine in no matter the day. You see, Annie is a Trooper and has spent all of prior days in an Amish puppy mill and is now learning what it is like to live outside the mill. It's a big, scary world for Annie and she tries so hard each and every day to push her fears aside to trust humans. This beautiful redhead is 6-8 years old and weighs 13.5 lbs. She is very attached to the security that a pen or crate brings as she has spent her entire life inside of one. However, she has determined that she loves to be petted and is approaching her foster mama more and more. Annie has ... (Read More)also learned that humans give these tasty things called treats and is now taking them from our fingertips. Annie is no where near a social dog and cannot be expected to walk right up to someone with her tail wagging. She will, however, offer you sweet, gentle love and will become a constant companion to a kind, gentle, and patient person. A prospective adopter needs to have some knowledge on the demeanor of puppy mill dogs...you must give them time while SLOWLY helping them work through their fears. In the mill, she was never outside in the grass let alone on a leash. She learned to hold her bladder and bowels for as long as possible, but has now learned the freedom of a doggy door and will maybe have one accident a day while she is crated in her pen. It's only been a few weeks since Annie has come into our care and she hasn't decided if steps are something she wants to tackle yet, but we are sure that with time and consistency, she will take them with leaps and bounds. She also played with a toy yesterday, so we are excited to see where time will take her with playing and fetching. A FENCED YARD IS REQUIRED FOR ANNIE, ALONG WITH A QUIET HOME WITHOUT CHILDREN OR GRANDCHILDREN. SHE WILL ALSO DO BEST WITH ANOTHER DOG IN THE HOME, AS ANOTHER DOG WILL HELP ALLEVIATE HER FEARS IN A NEW HOME AND TEACH HER HOW TO BE A DOG. We know there are special people out there who want to help these scared mill babies...and you are exactly what Annie needs. If you would like to give Annie the life she's always deserved, please submit an application at http://PawsitivelyPom.rescuegroups.org. She has been brought current on core vaccines (Rabies, two Distemper boosters, and Bordatella), spayed, microchipped, heartworm and fecal tested, and had a dental cleaning. Her adoption fee of $250 (reduced to $150 for senior citizens 65+) will help reimburse some of the vet care she has received. (Less)

It's very easy to see that they both want to break free of the mental anguish that binds them, they just need that patient, caring person to get them over the hurdle. Peyton is approx. 4 years old and weighs 8 pounds while Riley is approx. 5 years old and weighs 12 lbs. Both are kind, gentle and very quiet; however, Peyton does get very excited when you first come home and will bark for a few minutes to let you know how happy she is to see you. Peyton is afraid of steps and will need carried up/down while Riley does them like a pro. Both love the outdoors and a quiet, corner to lay in when indoors. They have come so far with housetraining, but still require patience and consistency. Riley also had a ruptured disc repaired in the middle of his back, which was surgically corrected and needs no further attention. He was also diagnosed with an auto inflammatory disease, which requires one pill twice daily to keep him pain free. He is also taking Prednisone daily and should be able to wean off this summer...this is part of the treatment plan for the auto inflammatory disease. Do not let this disease frighten you or scare you away as it is very easily managed with one pill morning and night. Pomeranian    Age: Senior

Arf! Arf! I'm Josie, the most lady-like Pom you will ever meet! I may be 11 years old, but I'm full of playful energy, only 9 pounds, and just love to snuggle and get rubs. I was surrendered to a rescue with terrible hair loss due to a flea infestation and Cushing's Disease. This wonderful group of people saw that I received the proper testing and treatment that I need, so here I am! I no longer have those nasty flea biting critters crawling in my fur and have finally started the medicine needed to keep the Cushing's under control. The rescue did have a specialist conduct and ultrasound to confirm that my Pituitary is the cause of ... (Read More)Cushing's. That just means I have to take a pill once a day. I am hoping to find a family that will love me and continue to care for me. The rescue will also ensure that I receive a dental and spay and have both my back knees (patellas) surgically corrected. I will need yearly testing done to ensure that my Cushing's is under control but am otherwise a normal pup expected to live for many more years! I have a little attitude with new people for the first few minutes, but once I realize you won't hurt me I am putty in your hand. I love other dogs and really love toys! Won't you give me my second chance? Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament

Truffle is a 7-year-old male Pomeranian and weighs 12 pounds. He lived with his original owners his entire life and came to us after their divorce. He knows quite a few commands and loves to turn in circles for treats. He does have a few quirks that are easily manageable: he can be toy aggressive with other dogs, but that seemed to diminish after the first week or two; he's not the biggest fan of brushing/grooming, so we simply take him to the groomer once a month; he will bolt out the door if given the chance, but a firm 'sit and stay' command does the trick; and he needs a refresher in proper potty habits when he first comes into a ...
