|Rescue Me ID: 16-10-02-00425Miss Bridget (female)|
Date into Rescue: 06/25/2016 Reason for being in rescue: found as a stray in mid NC Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC Special Needs? Bridgett is blind in her left eye Weight: 8 lbs Height: about 9' at the shoulder Adoption Fee: $229 Fence needed? No Special needs: Bridgett has a cataract in one eye .It was evaluated by a veterinary ophthamalogist and here are the results: Bridgett has a long standing cataract in her left eye. She unfortunately has no dazzle or pupillary light response in her left eye and a Marcus Gunn pupil. This suggests that she has a retinal detachment or at least highly degenerative retina in her left eye. This is not painful but the vision loss is permanent and removal of the cataract would not be beneficial. The right eye has excellent vision with a mild anterior and posterior cortical cataract. The cataract will progress, but usually slowly over the next 3 to 4 years. Based on her right eye I would guess she is around 6 to 7 years old. What kind of home would be best for me? Bridgett is sweetly affectionate and would love a home where she gets a lot of lap time. What is my personality like? Happy, gregarious and bubbly. How I act when I first meet new people: Friendly House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained. A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule. My age: Est 7 years old, est birthdate 6/25/2009 Please note - we do not ship dogs. If you are interested in adopting, please take a look at the distance between the foster home location and your location and make sure you are willing to make that trip. To apply, please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and visit the tab on the left that directions you to the online application. Please note that when screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, color, age, etc. Others here may be a better fit for you. It is very difficult to get to know a living animal from a picture and a short description. Since we are constantly getting in new dogs, this may be a dog not in our listings yet. We want you to be very happy with your new companion and will make suggestions based on what you tell us about you. Pomeranian Dogs can make good pets in South Carolina if they match your IifestyIe. The Pomeranian is a poufy, fox-like toy breed. Pomeranians are vivacious and intelligent. This breed may become skittish around very young, rambunctious kids. Pomeranians need consistent, thorough obedience training. Pomeranians do fine living in an apartment if they get enough exercise.
