Rescue Me ID: 14-08-31-00231Benji (male)

Pomeranian Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Benji is a beautiful larger Pomeranian Mix that we estimate to be between 18 and 24 months old. We acquired him as a new home for him from a private individual. He weighs about 17 pounds, has a beautiful smooth coat that is easy to maintain. He is very energetic and smart. He has never met a stranger, as he loves everybody. He likes a lot of exercise and freedom to run and play. He would like to be a lap dog. He loves to be rubbed and caressed. He insists on some petting and play. He is mostly house trained---will have an accident if we fail to take him out. He is used to a crate. Benji has not been around other dogs and cats very ... (Read More)much, appears to be a little aggressive at first, but then learns to play with them appropriately. Benji needs a home with adults and older children with open space for exercise and freedom. (A fenced back yard would be ideal.) He is on the way as far as training for boundaries and rules. He does respond to correction, but needs more consistency than we give him. The reason we want to give up Benji is that we over 80 years of age and find it difficult to keep up with him. So, we want to find him a good long term home, as he is young, loving, and needs better care than we can give him. Thank you for taking a look at and considering Benji! (Less)

Pomeranian Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament

Scamp is an adorable and spunky brindle Pekingese/Pomeranian mix, just two years old. He has a mostly black face and beautiful golden swirls in black on the rest of his body with a long fluffy white tail. He has the long fluffy ears of the Pekingese. Scamp is learning how to walk on a leash with a harness. He will be getting neutered, finishing his shots, heartworm testing and microchip next Wednesday, July 16th. He will be available for adoption by Thursday, July 17th or anytime thereafter. His adoption fee is $200 and requires an adoption application, adoption contract and home visit if you are local. For long distance adopters you can ... (Read More)submit pictures of your home instead. if you are interested in adopting this little cutie, please email You can also call or text (615) 290-2454. Scamp would do best with a fenced-in yard since he is still learning how to walk on a leash. He would be fine with older children, just not small ones. He is great with cats and other dogs. We call him Scamp because he is a mischievous little fluffball. He is always finding something on the floor and bringing it to me to see if he is allowed to play with it. He frequently jumps for joy and scampers around bringing smiles wherever he goes. =) You can view more pictures of him here: Scamp loves to play fetch and snuggle. (Less)

Though it is surprising in light of its small size, the Pomeranian is closely related to the German Spitz. A Pomeranian puppy is about the size of a human thumb. Pomeranians were owned by Mozart.
