Meet Pommie a 3-5 year old purebred Pomeranian who has had one heck of a life up until her recent rescue (about 6 weeks ago.) Pommie was used at a puppy mill as a breeding mom for the entirety of her life so far. If you don't know what a puppy mill is, please google it and spread the word! She was caged 24 hours a day, in her own feces and urine and bred from her first head cycle constantly for 3-5 years. During that time she could have produced up to 2 litters a year. These 'breeders' then take the puppies away as early as 4 weeks old (when they should not be taken from their mother until 8-10 weeks), and sell them to pet stores and ... (Read More)online. They ship the puppies site unseen so that most people don't know how inhumane they are to the parents. Please never buy a puppy from a pet store or from a website that ships and spay/neuter your pets so these people go out of business! Now back to Pommie. She is a shy girl who does not like to be caught or handled. As stated above she has not had much human interaction but is starting to slowly bond with staff and volunteers at the rescue. She is very timid and shy, and gets confused when she is picked up so she will need someone very special to take her on and show her that humans can really show love and compassion! SHE IS NOT POTTY TRAINED. We are unsure how she would do with children, but recommend only older children in the house as small children and loud noises would probably be too much for her. She is UTD on shots, has an apt to be spayed 9/30 and is micro-chipped. (Less)
